The Huntsville All Star League is back from hiatus after a two year break. Huntsville's premier bowling league started with the 1990-91 fall season. The idea came about when some local bowlers got together hoping to form a more competitive league. The league is designed to encourage low average bowlers to compete with higher average bowlers. Teams
are sponsored by local businesses. The All Star League
bowled on Thursday nights at 8:30 at Pin Palace Lanes. It is established as a handicap league but a minimum entering average of 180 was required.
This league is for the serious bowler. The league started its inaugural season as a five man ten team league. Because of completing the competition near midnight each night, the league voted to go to a 3 man league starting with the 1994-1995 season. The prize fund for the
2008-2009 season was close to $35,000.
