Schedule & League Information:
The league shall be called The All-Star League; it shall be sanctioned through the Huntsville Bowling Association. The League shall consist of 28 teams with a playing strength of 3 playing members and a maximum of 5 bowlers per roster. The league will bowl on Thursday evenings at 8:30 pm at AMF Pin Palace Lanes with a 36-week schedule beginning on August 17, 2006 and ending it’s regular season on April 27, 2006. The league will not bowl on Thursday, November 23, 2006 for Thanksgiving Holiday. Teams will only be added in pairs, with no vacancy teams allowed. Teams who have representation the prior year will have first option before new teams are added for the next season. All teams participating in the league must give written notice to the leagues administrator if they do not plan to participate in the next season’s league.
The 36-week schedule will be divided into three periods with a position round every sixth week. Week 12- November 2, 2006-Week 24- February 1, 2007-Week 36-April 26, 2007 will be period ending dates. Following the 36th week a Roll Off will take place on May 3, 2007 with the championship roll-off shall consist of each winner of the periods. A “Wild Card Team” will advance to the championship roll-off. The wild card team will be the team with the most season points that did not win one of the periods. In the event that one team wins more than one period, an additional wild card team will advance to the roll-off. This team will be the team with the second most season points that did not win one of the periods. If one team wins all the periods, the three non-winning team with the most season points will advance to the championship roll-off. In the semi-finals the teams with the most total points will bowl the team with the least points and the other winner will bowl each other. The roll-off will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 8:30 pm. The team (s) with the most total points for the year will draw to determine which lanes will be used.
The league will use a 25-point system. Individual games will be worth 1 point and individual series will be worth 2 points. Team games will be worth 2 points and team series will be worth 4 points.
In the case of a tie for each period champion (based on points) the teams with the most total points for the third will bowl a one game roll-off the night of the schedule period ending to determine the champion. The team with the most roll-off points will be declared the champion. If a tie still exists then total handicap pins for the roll-off will decide the champion. If a tie still exists then, total handicap pins for the roll-off will decide the champion. A drawing will be held on an available pair of lanes to decide starting lanes for the roll-off, pairs that either team has not used that night.
League Fees-Salaries-Funds
The amount to be paid by each member each week shall be $20.00 of which $7.25 will be paid for lineage and the remaining will be deposited in the AMF League Banking account weekly. AMF Pin Palace will donate lineage fees for the 35th and 36th week to the prize fund. Each team will have sponsorship with fees of $250.00. It is the team’s responsibility to provide a sponsor. If a team is unable to obtain sponsorship, AMF Pin Palace will assist in the effort if notified before the 3rd week of the schedule. Any teams not having a sponsor will cover the cost of sponsorship fee’s. All teams sponsorship fees of $250.00 must be paid by the 8-week of bowling. All sponsorship fees’ will be deposited in an AMF League Banking account and shall be added to the prize fund. Funds will be verified monthly by the leagues president.
It is the team captain’s responsibility to collect all fees and turn into the Leagues Administers by the end of the third frame of the first game. NO TEAM MEMBER WILL BE ALLOWED TO BOWL THAT IS IN ARREARS. The last two weeks of the season must be paid by October 5, 2006. There will be no charging of weekly fees. All checks must be made payable to the All-Star League. Any returned check will be charged back to the league account included $30.00 service fee. It will be the bowler’s responsibility to make check and bank charges up to the league within one week after returned check is submitted back to AMF Pin Palace.
The League Administrator(s) is appointed by the centers management. He/She will run brackets and other pots for the league with 100% payback to the winners. 1st,2nd and 3rd places shall be paid in brackets. Prizes
No individual awards will be paid in this league “ONLY Team Prizes”. The prize list will be presented the first evening of bowling. The prize list will not be altered unless teams resign from the league. All teams will cash. The prize list and these league rules were adopted by the leagues members on August 17, 2006. Pay-off will begin at 8:00 pm on May 3, 2007.
ABC Special Recognition Medallion will be awarded to the league member with the leagues highest points won.
Entering Average and Handicaps
League membership must have a minimum average of 180 for the 2005-2006 season or summer league 2006. Bowlers who bowled in the All-Star League for the 2005-2006 will us his/her final average with a minimum of 21 games for their first 9 games of the league. Those bowlers who did not participate in the All Star League last season will use his/her high book average for the 2005/2006 seasons for the first 9 games. Or if none of the above apply, a summer league average with a minimum of 21 games for their entering average for the first 9 games. It is the bowler’s responsibility to furnish the League Administrator with such average within one week of bowling if they do not have a Huntsville Bowling Association average. This rule also applies to any bowlers wishing to join a team roster anytime during the 36-week season.
Handicap percentage shall be 90% of 220 with a maximum handicap of 36.
Subs-League Lineup, Tardy Players-Absentee-and Vacancy Scores.
No roving substitutes will be allowed. Legal lineup is 1 member of the current team’s roster. Lineup must be present at the start of each game in order to compete. Absentee score will be the absent bowlers average less 10 pins plus and handicap. Vacancy score will be 180 plus 36 pins handicap. A team with a vacancy must have a full roster by the 3rd week of bowling. The vacancy fee’s are to be paid by the new member by the 4th week of the league. Vacancy fees are $20.00 for each week missed. Any member wishing to withdraw from the league must give a two weeks notice with all weekly fees due + the last two weeks to be paid. Failure to do so will result in possible suspension from USBC.. Each team is allowed one prebowl without approval. Any other prebowls or post bowl must be approved by the board of directors.
Postponements
Bowling unopposed is authorized by teams only in an extreme emergency. Postponements will be granted only in emergency cases. Postponement will be granted only by the leagues officers. All postponed matches must be made up 1 week prior to each period. USBC will not give honor score awards to bowlers or team who bowl unopposed. Pre-bowling is recommended instead of post bowling. Team members from opposing teams are not allowed to view any scores shot by a team who is pre-bowling.
All rules not covered above will be in compliance with the current USBC rulebook.
