The Alabama State USBC Board has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation. The federal, state, local and I think every possible sports organization has recommended that basically everything with more than 10 people should be postponed or suspended.
The Alabama USBC Board has decided that we should postpone all activities including the current Youth Tournament through April 15, 2020. We are not canceling the tournament just postponing to a future date. That date is not known at this time because no one knows how long this health threat will last.
We intend to reschedule the tournament as soon as possible. Once that date is determined we will contact you with the dates. The squads will be scheduled in the order they were previously scheduled. Some may have conflicts and if possible we will move you to a different time. Should that not be possible we will refund your money. We will not open up the tournament to new entries. Anyone may ask to have their money refunded now and a check will be mailed to you. Unfortunately we will need the bowler or their guardian to request the refund. Should you choose to have your money refunded prior to the rescheduling of the tournament you will not be allowed to re-enter the tournament.
This postpone does not include the Open Tournament at this time but to be honest there is a possibility of the Open being postponed. I have received info today that five centers in Alabama have closed their doors due to the virus. I will repeat the Open Tournament is not postponed at this time. Should that decision be made we will get that info out as soon as we can.
My prayer is for each of you to be well and that no one get this virus.
