- This tournament is certified (Cert. # 05049) by the United States Bowling Congress and shall be governed by USBC Youth rules. Only USBC Youth members may participate. All members must be certified through Alabama State USBC.
- League level qualifying dates are November 6 - 24, 2015 and January 8 – 25, 2016. Advancement from league is a one-time entry. If an individual who qualified cannot participate in this competition, replacements will be eligible based on order of finish in previous competition.
- Advancement ratio from league competition to sectional competition is at least one (1) for every two (2) entries per division, per league, or major fraction thereof, including last place ties. The advancement ratio shall be applied uniformly to all eligible divisions.
- Advancers out of the league level must remain in the division they qualified in during all subsequent levels. If a bowler advances out of league level in more than one state zone the bowler must declare one state zone to continue competing before the next competition level. Participation in any level of competition past the league level in more than one state zone will result in automatic disqualification.
- Competition will take place at the Bowling Centers in the cities listed below on the dates and times indicated. A sport oil pattern will be used by all sectional centers during competition and will be determined by Pepsi committee prior to competition. Sport oil pattern will be one of the recommended patterns by Junior Gold. A copy of the Sport oil pattern will be posted at each center for visual confirmation.

- Entry closing date is Sunday, January 31, 2016. Qualifiers’ name, address, telephone number, date of birth and all entrants’ tournament entry fees and forms must be submitted by this date to sectional tournament director.
- Competition shall be conducted in the following divisions. These divisions are based on the participant’s date of birth.
- U8 Boys & Girls Bowlers whose birthdate is 8/1/2007 or later
- U10 Boys & Girls Bowlers whose birthdate is 8/1/2005 thru 7/31/2007
- U12 Boys & Girls Bowlers whose birthdate is 8/1/2003 thru 7/31/2005
- U15 Boys & Girls Bowlers whose birthdate is 8/1/2000 thru 7/31/2003
- U20 Boys & Girls Bowlers whose birthdate is 8/1/1995 thru 7/31/2000

10. DRESS CODE The dress code will change this year (2015-16) to mirror that of Nationals. This will be implemented in the sectional and state competitions. Dress code will state as follows: Competitors shall provide their own: A bowling shirt with a butterfly collar or mock collar. Mock collar must be a minimum of ¾ of 1 inch. All shirts must have finished sleeves for all competitions. Females may wear sleeveless shirt with a butterfly collar only if the sleeves are finished. Only full length pants/slacks will be allowed for all males and females during competitions. No skirts, skorts, walking shorts, Capri pants, culottes or yoga pants will be allowed. Shirts with sleeves cut off, torn or ripped may not be worn. No denim, fleece, spandex or Lycra materials are allowed, NO JEANS PERIOD. No warm up suits or any clothing with elastic at the ankles are allowed. No hats, head gear or sunglasses are allowed while practicing or competing. All participants are required to check in personally for clothing approval.
NO SMOKING PERMITTED BY USBC YOUTH PARTICIPANTS. PARENTS AND TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS NEEDING TO SMOKE, MUST DO SO IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY.
- No substitutes will be permitted; however, a replacement qualifier may be used for bowlers 15 minutes prior to the squad time as stated in Rule #2. Replacements must be from same league, window, and division as the replaced/absent bowler based on standings.
- Competitors shall be allowed 10 minutes of practice.
- If no replacements have been made, bowlers arriving late shall begin play and the score shall count beginning with the frame then being bowled. Missed frames shall be credited with a zero. Bowlers not present to bowl when it is their turn shall be credited with a zero for each frame missed.
- Bowlers must have a minimum of 12 games as of January 27, 2016 OR as of tournament date in order to participate in the Sectional and/or State Competition.
- Only bowlers and tournament officials will be permitted in the settee area.
- Claims of errors in scoring or general playing rules must be made to the tournament director no later than the start of the next block or 30 minutes after the completion of competition. Questionable errors shall be decided upon by the tournament director. All other protests must be confirmed in writing to the tournament director within 72 hours or before the awards are presented. Under this rule, each protest must be specific in itself.
- Advancement ratio from Sectional level to the next competition level (State) is at least one (1) for every two (2) entries per division, or major fraction there of, including last place ties for U12, U15 & U20 boys & girls. U8 & U10 will not advance to the State Level. In all cases at least one (1) individual per division shall advance. The advancement ratio shall be applied uniformly to all eligible divisions.

19. U8 & U10 will receive awards as follows:
1st Place – Scholarship & Certificate
2nd & 3rd Place – Certificate
Scholarships may be issued to 2nd & 3rd Place finishers based on number of entries in the Divisions.
20. All matters not covered by these rules and regulations shall be determined by the Alabama State USBC Youth Committee and the National Pepsi USBC Youth Championships Committee. The National Pepsi USBC Youth Championships Committee reserves the right to accept and reject any participant.
